Company to to purchase seven new Bell 412 helicopters- ADA to distribute 15% dividends

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADA), the largest commercial helicopter operator in the Middle East, on Tuesday approved at its Annual General Meeting to distribute 15 per cent dividends of its net profit.“The total revenues recorded was Dh1.78 billion and the operating costs reported was Dh1.34 billion at the end of December 2012. The net profits recorded was 263.9 million at the end of December 2012 compared to Dh280.9 million for the same period of 2011,” said Nader Al Hammadi, ADA’s chairman.

Al Hammadi added that the company is working hard on developing its fleet as the market is witnessing very tough competition.

“We are developing our fleet to meet future challenges as there are many competitors in this field. We have 58 operating helicopters, three fixed wing jets and we have signed deals to purchase seven new Bell 412 helicopters, of which four have been received already and fully paid for, and three are to be delivered this year,” explained Al Hammadi.

The cost of the seven jets is Dh330 million, he said, adding that there is an increase in demand and that is why the ADA is investing in these kind of jets.

Al Hammadi pointed out that the company has operations in many countries worldwide.

“We are the largest commercial helicopter operator in the region while our global presence has also been expanded to cover five different continents around the world, including countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Brazil, Australia and Papua New Guinea,” said Al Hammadi.
